Embedded World: Distributor strengthens embedded market position
The newly founded Future Embedded Systems, a business unit of Future Electronics, demonstrated its serious intent to be a major player in the market arriving at Embedded Systems in Nuremberg brandishing a new supplier and showcasing a raft of demonstrations with its suppliers.
Alex Candela, Vertical Segment manager – Embedded explained the new business is based on three pillars.
“First we are in the high processor space with the ability to supply a solution based on a system on module or single board computer. We have a good set of partners including STMicro, NXP and Microchip for high end microcontrollers and NXP, Microchip and Cavium for low end applications ” he explained. “Second we have now signed a Tianmaa NLT displays franchise in the EMEA region. With these products we can cover low-end to high-end applications.”
To complete the embedded solution portfolio Future also has software partnerships, most prominently with the ARM Mbed operating system.
The distributor is supporting customers through four field applications engineers based in Germany, the UK, France and Israel. “They have 20 plus years of experience in helping to develop embedded systems solutions,” said Candela.
Candela’s strategy is to engage with a customer art the development stage where a business development tea from Future will help the customer develop from concept into an initial product design. The FAE teas will then carry on the process to see the product through to a successful system design.
Adding more muscle to the products portfolio are SoM products and SBCs from suppliers including Technexion and Digi.
Future Embedded Solutions also provides support for embedded operating systems including freeRTOS, Linux, Android and Windows Embedded.
