It’s not just pens and pencils many children use in the classroom, today even four and five year-olds find computer-based learning fun. As parents get their children ready to go back to school in September, two specialist CHERRY keyboards developed for the education market and a CHERRY computer mouse designed specifically for children are worth a closer look.

Large button colourful Kids Mouse and two different keyboards specially designed for educational market make early ICT easier

Children love the CHERRY Kids Mouse with its bright black and yellow housing – it was developed by the company’s design team in conjunction with nurseries and schools specifically for younger learners. The corded optical Kids Mouse ensures accurate and smooth cursor control with 1000 dpi resolution and its “Plug and Play” installation ensures extremely simple start up. It’s symmetrical 3 button design and smaller size fits children’s hands and other thoughtful details, such as a particularly long 2 m. cable for connection to the PC, take account of a child’s smaller stature and shorter arms. Additional appealing features include stickers so children can customise their mouse and a matching customisable mouse mat is included in the package. The CHERRY Kids Mouse works with 64 and 32-bit operating systems, including Window 7™, Windows 2000™, Windows XP™ and Windows Vista™.

Small children start to learn to write in lower case and it can be confusing for them to have to read and recognise the capitals printed on standard keyboards, so CHERRY has produced a special version of its well-known CHERRY G83-6000 series with lower case letters on the keycaps instead of capitals. A design classic with millions in use across the whole of Europe and the US, this is an extremely robust, proven design which is guaranteed for heavy use.
