Cambridge Touch Technologies sets a new benchmark

A new 7-inch touch display module integrating CTT’s patented, force-sensitive capacitive touch technology, UltraTouch, is now available through a growing network of channel partners and value-added resellers, distributing worldwide.

The global touch display module market is expected to reach $113.05 billion by 2031. However, operational challenges like unintended touches and dust and moisture ingress are causing costly downtime and negatively impacting mission-critical applications where precision and accuracy are essential. As governments and private sectors invest in newer and better human-machine-interfaces (HMI) for next-generation equipment, or modernising outdated existing systems, traditional solutions often fall short due to safety concerns, reliability issues, and susceptibility to electromagnetic interference (EMI), making them less suitable for demanding environments in industries such as industrial automation, defence, and healthcare.

CTT’s UltraTouch technology brings a new standard of touch interactivity, elevating user interfaces, boosting operational efficiency, and creating new possibilities for a wide range of control applications. UltraTouch is transparent, flexible, solid-state, and thinner than a human hair. As a passive layer, it consumes very little power. It detects both the location and force of finger touches, allowing the touch sensor to be covered with materials such as glass, polymer, metal, or ceramic. Additionally, UltraTouch can directly trigger haptic feedback systems, bypassing the delay of routing touch event data through the host device.

With operations and sales teams in the UK, Tokyo, Montreal, Munich, Taipei, and Shanghai, CTT seeks to expand its global presence by recruiting value-added resellers to distribute its products worldwide, including in the United States.
