Cypress's 2.4-GHz WirelessUSB-NL Radio-on-a-Chip Powers ITON's Turnkey Module for Wireless Mice
Cypress Semiconductor today announced that ITON Technology has selected Cypress’s 2.4-GHz WirelessUSB-NL radio-on-a-chip for its complete module for wireless mice. The module includes firmware, providing customers with a turnkey solution to create their own end-products. The low power consumption of the WirelessUSB-NL solution helps the module enable mice to operate for up to three years on two AA batteries.
WireThe WirelessUSB-NL device features very low active and standby current (less than 1 uA), and it has a closed-loop radio architecture that minimizes signal frequency drift for very robust radio performance. The solution leverages -87 dBm receive sensitivity to enable longer range operation. With the robust interference immunity of Cypress’s WirelessUSB technology, the WirelessUSB-NL device delivers best-in-class performance in the presence of interference from WiFi, Bluetooth, cordless phones, microwaves, and other common sources operating in the 2.4-GHz range.
“Cypress’s WirelessUSB-NL solution provides low power consumption along with superior immunity to RF interference, delivering excellent overall performance to our module,” said Wang Kang, Director for 2.4-Ghz Wireless Market at ITON. “Cypress’s technical support team worked with us to speed development and cut our time to market.”
“ITON’s module offers a complete solution for wireless mice leveraging the combination of our WirelessUSB-NL and enCoRe products,” said Jayant Somani, senior director of worldwide marketing for Cypress’s Data Communication Division. “The design demonstrates the industry-leading battery life, noise immunity, and extended range of Cypress’s portfolio for Human Input Devices.”
WirelessUSB-NL is complemented by Cypress’s enCoRe II and enCoRe V low-voltage, highly integrated microcontrollers, offering manufacturers a single source of supply and support. WirelessUSB-NL also supports Cypress’s AgileHID protocol that allows existing WirelessUSB customers to get started quickly on their designs without any additional effort.
