Consisting of several elements that together provide everything needed to develop a MOST150-based automotive system or device using coaxial cables, the MOST150 coax (cPHY) tool chain has been unveiled by K2L. The toolchain provides application development, whole-system safeguarding, testing, simulation, deep-system analysis, verification, and stress scenarios.

Additionally, the core of this tool chain—the OptoLyzer MOCCA compact 150c—remains the only all-in-one hardware interface with support for all of the major automotive bus systems in one box, including CAN, LIN, FlexRay® and MOST® technology.  This integration enables common timestamp information for messages and events from a variety of sources.

In addition to the widely used plastic optical fiber (POF) physical layer, MOST150 now supports a low-cost electrical physical layer based on coaxial cables.  Demand for this solution is expected to be particularly high with the OEM and tier-one designers of MOST technology-based automotive infotainment systems and devices. The OptoLyzer MOCCA compact 150c includes a fully integrated cPHY front end, supporting full MOST150c Spy mode, along with node mode and stress capabilities.  It can also be used to perform analysis and verification, as well as Automotive Test System (ATS) testing and simulation.

The new MOST PCI Toolkit 150c is also available for the testing and simulation of MOST150 CPHY streaming applications.  This solution helps customers quickly and easily send and/or receive MOST150 streaming data—either synchronous or isochronous—by simply clicking a button on the GUI; without programming a single line of code.

The C-O Converter is a converter box that acts as a gateway between oPHY and cPHY MOST150 systems.  It allows users to make use of their existing MOST150 oPHY tools, reducing development costs and speeding time to market. The MOST150 Coax (cPHY) Tool Chain is available today from K2L.

“We have already seen automotive-OEM early adopters of MOST150 coax, and this provides them with a comprehensive tool chain for development,” said Matthias Karcher, K2L’s senior manager.  “Developers can use our tool chain to create MOST150 coax applications efficiently and with high quality.”
