Atmel’s SAM D20IAR Systems adds support for ARM Cortex-M0+ based microcontrollers
The Atmel ultra-low power SAM D20 microcontroller series can now benefit from development tools support from IAR. Featuring comprehensive debugging capabilities, highly opmitized build tools and including innovative Power Debugging technology, IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM enables high performance support for the Atmel SAM D20 microcontroller series.
AtmeIncluding the IAR C/C++ Compiler, linker, assembler, librarian, project manager, text editor and C-SPY Debugger in a user-friendly integrated development environment. The toolchain offers extensive debugging and highly optimizing build tools and analysis possibilities such as complex code data breakpoints and, runtime stack analysis, code coverage analysis, call stack visualization, and integrated monitoring of power consumption. Version 6.60 is support for IAR Systems’ I-scope probe, used together with the in-circuit debugging probe I-jet and adds capabilities for current and voltage measurements. The measurements supply developers with expertise about the power consumed by particular modules and allow them to enhance their applications for power consumption, therefor taking advantage of the energy-efficient features of the SAM D20 series.
Quote by Joerg Bertholdt, director of tools and software, Atmel Corporation. “Atmel and IAR Systems are long-time partners and we are glad to gain early support for our SAM D20 series in the powerful toolchain IAR Embedded Workbench”, He followed on to say, “The new series adds to our broad portfolio, ranging from 8-bit AVR MCUs to high-end Cortex-A5 MPUs. Our customers can trust IAR Systems to provide world-leading tools for our complete range of rich-peripheral, ultra-low-power MCUs.”
The SAM D20 family has available support when using IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM, version 6.60 and later.
