Atmel maXTouch Controllers Power Rise, Hydro and Digno S Smartphone Touchscreens
Atmel Corporation have announced today that Kyocera has selected Atmel to provide touchscreen controllers for its new Rise, Hydro and Digno S smartphones. The Atmel maXTouch mXT112E touchscreen controller is powering both the Kyocera Rise and Hydro 3.5-inch touchscreens, and the Atmel maXTouch mXT224S is powering the Digno S 4.7-inch touchscreen.

Key features for the Rise and Hydro smartphones include:
-A 3.5” HVGA touchscreen
-Runs on Google’s Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system
-Powered by a 1GHz processor
-3.2MP camera / camcorder
-Wi-Fi-enabled to connect to wireless networks (HotSpots)
The Rise smartphone also includes a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, while the Hydro is extremely water resistant.
Both the Rise and Hydro smartphones are available in the US markets today.
Key features for the Digno S smartphone include:
-Over 18 hours of talk time with a 2,520mAh battery
-4.7-inch Android 4.0 handset
-1.5GHz dual-core device through KDDI
-Available in three colours: white, pink and blue
The Kyocera Digno S is available in the Japanese market today.
