IAR Systems supports Actel's new SmartFusion Intelligent Mixed Signal FPGAs
IAR Systems today announced support for Actel's SmartFusion devices that integrate an FPGA, ARM Cortex(TM)-M3-based microcontroller subsystem and programmable analog on a single chip. IAR Embedded Workbench seamlessly combines with an eco-system of middleware options, a major advantage for end users adopting these new devices. SmartFusion devices offer a compelling solution in a wide variety of applications, including motor control, system and power management and industrial automation. These applications span the industrial, military, medical, telecommunications, computing and storage markets.
IAR By partnering with IAR Systems we are able to support the broad, diverse and changing needs of today's embedded designers with a comprehensive ecosystem that will increase flexibility and time-to-market, said Rich Kapusta, vice president of marketing and business development at Actel.
Micrium was selected by Actel as a key partner to provide RTOS and middleware based on our reputation and Cortex expertise, said Jean Labrosse, Micrium CEO. Micrium and IAR Systems are at the forefront, supporting customers that require an FPGA mixed signal solution based on the ARM Cortex-M3 platform in their increasingly complex designs.
A free evaluation version of IAR Embedded Workbench is available for use with Actel's SmartFusion Evaluation and Development Kits, allowing end users up to 32KB of code. With its technology alliance with Micrium, IAR Systems will provide a complete solution including RTOS, TCP/IP and other middleware products.
