IAR Embedded Workbench supports 8-bit AVR MCUs
IAR Systems announces support for Microchip’s new generation of the 8-bit tinyAVR microcontrollers (MCUs) in the highly optimising development toolchain IAR Embedded Workbench. This empowers developers to create AVR-based applications with low power consumption and high quality guaranteed. The new 8-bit tinyAVR MCUs are targeted for applications that require performance, power efficiency and ease of use in a small package.
The compiler and debugger toolchain IAR Embedded Workbench incorporates the IAR C/C++ Compiler, which is known for outstanding code size optimisations. Thanks to this strong technology, the IAR C/C++ Compiler is able to create the most compact code for Microchip’s 8-bit AVR MCUs, making IAR Embedded Workbench the ultimate choice for development of low-power applications.
“We are happy to have IAR Systems supporting our growing AVR MCU portfolio,” says Derek Carlson, vice president of Development Tools, Microchip. “The complete IAR Embedded Workbench IDE includes powerful optimisation and debugging technology that enables our mutual customers to leverage the full potential of our small and power-efficient tinyAVR MCUs.”
In addition to support for Microchip’s 8-bit AVR MCUs, IAR Embedded Workbench offers full-scale support for AVR 32-bit MCUs as well as Microchip’s ARM®-based and 8051-based MCUs families. Find all details about IAR Embedded Workbench at www.iar.com/iar-embedded-workbench.
