From standard components: embedded systems for every requirement
Depending on the area of application, embedded systems are subjectto very different demands as regards mechanical stability such as shock and vibration resistance, IP and EMC protection and cooling requirements. With its systems based on the Schroff brandedmodular 19 subracks, Pentair Equipment Protection offers an ideal platform on which these various demands can be satisfied.
Drawevery necessary level of ruggedness.
For applications e.g. on rotating machines or in vehicles, where high shock and vibration resistance levels are called for, the modular Schroff subracks can be suitably equipped. This is usually achieved using standard components alone, such as strengthened side panels or robust horizontal rails with added fixing points. This increases the loading capacity of the subrack to 25 g. If still higher shock and vibration values are required, enclosure variants are available offering up to 40 g. Recently Pentair Equipment Protection introduced such a case that conforms to the ATR specification. Particularly high levels of IP and EMC protection, as are demanded e.g. in defense systems, can also be realized from the wide selection of standard components. Such systems, which are normally completely closed, then have higher cooling requirements. These are normally prescribed by the type of application. Here again, Pentair Equipment Protection offers standard cooling solutions for different levels of ruggedness, from forced air cooling through conduction cooling and cold plates to water cooling for hot spots.
Additionally, all known bus technologies such as VMEbus, VXS, VPX, CompactPCI Plus IO, CompactPCI
Serial etc. are supported and the appropriate, high-performance PSUs are integrated. From this wide
portfolio of standard components, embedded systems can be configured or indeed modified to the
customer's requirements and to the necessary level of ruggedness.
