Achieve cinema-quality sound on the move with Wolfson's Ez2 software

Wolfson’s Ez2 listen includes many sound enhancement features such as 5.1 Virtual Surround Sound for speakers and headphones, bass and treble boost, and multi-band compression sound level equaliser, which brings music, movies and games to life by improving the output volume of the device and delivering up to 7dB more volume whilst maintaining quality and without compromising the speaker. In addition, using a Wolfson audio digital signal processor in combination with an Audio Hub comes with the added advantage of a reduced power requirement, so that music can be played while the host application processors are left in sleep mode, ensuring that battery life extends as long as possible.

Previous solutions have resulted in increased drain on the battery and added significantly to the overall product material cost which was unacceptable to both manufacturers and consumers.

“Ez2 listen represents the ideal solution to this long-standing issue as it delivers exceptional quality sound on portable devices by increasing the output volume on the small non-optimal speaker, without damaging the speaker and increased audio playback hours, as well as a reduced cost and fast time-to-market for the manufacturer.”

Ez2 listen is the latest software feature to be introduced from Wolfson’s Ez2 software collection, and supports Wolfson’s four HD Audio solutions categories: HD Audio Voice, HD Audio Playback, HD Audio Capture and HD Audio Share, which uniquely combine to provide a complete ‘mouth-to-ear’ audio experience.

HD Audio Voice features advanced noise cancelling techniques, including Wolfson’s previously announced Ez2 hear Rx ANC, to enable exceptionally crisp and clear voice calls in any environment; HD Audio Playback, using Ez2 listen, includes many sound enhancement features, for example, 5.1 Virtual Surround Sound, base and treble boost to allow audio to be enjoyed at the highest quality; HD Audio Capture enables voice and gesture control of smart devices using Wolfson’s previously announced Ez2 control, and hi-fi audio recording on mobile devices in all environments, for example, at home, outside and even in a noisy venue like a club or concert; and HD Audio Share, using Wolfson’s Ez2 grouptalk and Ez2 facetalk, which enables mobile phones, tablet computers, personal computers or televisions to be used in speaker mode for ultra-high quality mobile or internet conference calls for individual one-to-one calls, or for calls in a large conference room or living room with multiple people.
