ETXexpress Module powered by VIA CN896 Chipset.
Avalue Technology has introduced the first ETXexpress Module ,the ESM-CN896, based the VIA CN896 chipset. This VIA solution is known for its power efficiency and superior C/P ratio (Capacity / Price). The ESM-CN896 is an undoubtedly powerful graphics-oriented solution featuring the VIA chrome- HC integrated graphic processor (3D Graphic Engine) that is capable of providing vivid images without increased system loading. In addition, the CN896 chipset is fully certified on Windows Vista, with advantages including advanced power management technologies, display option flexibility, and compatibility with DDR2 and PCIexpress.
The VIA CN869 IGP chipset is fully certified with the Microsoft Windows Vista Basic Logo. It has the DirectX 9.0 graphics core built-in. The 128-bit 2D/3D graphics engine enables acceleration of high quality graphics features. Combined with VIA C7 or Eden (V4), through the VIA V4 bus up to 800 MHz, this platform has been recognized by Microsoft as designed for Windows Vista.
Fast ConnectivityUtilizing the comprehensive feature of the VIA VT8251 south bridge, the ESM-CN896 provides a broad range of features and fast connectivity, including native SATAII (up to 4 ports), Hi-Definition audio, PCI Express x1, Gigabit LAN, and USB 2.0 (up to 8 ports). Moreover, the remarkable VIA ultra V-Link @ 533MB/sec provides high bandwidth communication between the North and South bridges.
VIA CN896 features PCI Express technology to enrich design features. With the availability of one 16-Lane PCI Express port, a PCI Express 16x slot can be included to meet higher graphics performance requirements. In addition, the 1-Lane PCI Express port can be used for peripherals as an extension.
TheESM-CN896is an affordable COM Express module with PCI Express connectivity, Gigabyte LAN, and SATA II for those who are looking for a platform with new technology. Combined with various CPUs from entry-level Eden or high performance C7 (up to 2.0GHz), the ESM-CN896 is optimized for various applications.
