STEC, Inc. today announced that it will demonstrate for the first time at the International Supercomputing Conference its new EnhanceIO SSD Cache Software on its PCI Express hardware. This demonstration showcases the newly released EnhanceIO SSD Cache Software and highlights how SSD applications can achieve extremely high performance levels of up to 100K IOs per second when used with an STEC PCIe high-endurance solid-state accelerator card.
ISC's focus on HPC hardware and software provides an ideal setting for STEC to showcase the breadth of its high-performance SSD solutions. Delivering data transfer of up to 8Gbps, the company's PCIe accelerator cards enable system manufacturers and resellers to take advantage of the ultra-fast access speeds of SSDs within the rapidly expanding PCIe installed base.

Coupled together, EnhanceIO SSD Cache Software and STEC's PCIe technology allow companies to achieve high IOPS levels with much less hardware and at substantially lower cost than previously possible, said Davide Villa, STEC's vice president of sales, EMEA. Furthermore, even though we are showcasing the performance with our own hardware, our EnhanceIO caching software provides complete vendor independence as it works with SSD solutions from any supplier. Attendees at ISC are encouraged to visit the STEC booth – number 102 -- to ask questions and see EnhanceIO in action.

Designed to be very easy to install and configure, EnhanceIO is currently available for both Linux and Windows operating systems. In addition, it can be used in conjunction with SSDs connected via SAS, Fibre Channel, PCIe or SATA interfaces, and used as cache memory for accelerating applications and reducing access latency, making the software an optimal solution for use in a variety of HPC, cloud and other IO-intensive application environments.
