Energy Micro and Spectrum Design Solutions to offer energy-efficient wireless designs
Energy Micro today announced a strategic relationship with Spectrum Design Solutions, a division of Digi International that provides wireless design services. The two companies will work closely together to solve customers’ wireless design challenges using the Energy Micro EFM32 Gecko range of microcontrollers.
Spec“We pride ourselves on forging close relationships with the companies whose products we use to develop our customers’ solutions,” said Mike Burica, Managing Director, Spectrum Design Solutions. “Working with Energy Micro not only gives us access to a range of microcontrollers that is ideally suited to our core area of expertise in wireless systems; it also allows us to talk directly with the engineers who created the EFM32 series to solve our customers’ design challenges more quickly and smoothly.”
Raman Sharma, Energy Micro’s Vice President of Sales, Americas, said: “We’re very proud to be working with an organization of the caliber of Spectrum Design Solutions. The best design services require the best engineers, and Spectrum certainly delivers on that promise. We’re looking forward to providing outstanding results to our mutual customers.”
Energy Micro’s Gecko microcontroller family consists of a range of more than 240 device variants based on the ARM Cortex processor cores. Benchmarked to consume just a quarter of the energy of competing 8-bit, 16-bit and 32-bit MCUs, the EFM32 Gecko series can extend the lifetime of a typical battery operated application by at least 300 per cent.
Spectrum Design Solutions offers complete hardware and software wireless design services, including wireless strategy consulting, product customization, custom antenna design and antenna validation services. This enables OEMs to quickly and easily add wireless capabilities to new and existing products.
