Artisan Software Tools is continuing to expand its global operations with a direct office in France. The new French office will complement Artisan’s global sales and support operation. In addition, Artisan has announced the appointment of Olivier Casse as the Territory Channel Manager for France with responsibility for representing Artisan in France and the Benelux region and co-ordinating its distribution channels. Olivier has extensive experience in the embedded market going back over ten years with Monditech, an automotive market embedded specialist, Embelec, a former distributor of Artisan Studio in France, LiveDevices, an RTOS supplier to the transportation market and I-Logix, the embedded software tools supplier now part of IBM.
“France is an increasingly important market for mission and safety-critical embedded systems and software development with expertise particularly concentrated in the aerospace, automotive, defense and rail transportation markets,” said James B. Gambrell, CEO of Artisan Software Tools. “We are extremely pleased that Olivier Casse, with his already extensive experience of both Artisan Studio and the French embedded market, is joining us in France. The establishment of a direct office is a logical step in further strengthening our presence in France. It will ensure we are perfectly positioned to drive our business forward and enable us to take better advantage of the growing demand for highly robust, collaborative modeling tools like Artisan Studio.”

Commenting on the plans for Artisan’s new French office, Jean Le Bastard, Alstom Transport’s French-based Chief Architect said: “Having chosen Artisan Studio as the core platform for our global SysML strategy, we are delighted to see that Artisan is continuing to expand its worldwide presence. As a multi-national company, with large French-based facilities, we think that this presence will allow us to more effectively support the global deployment of Artisan Studio at Alstom.”

Deployed in France by such leading companies as Alstom, Continental, DGA, EADS, SNCF, Kodak-Trophy, Rockwell-Collins and UIC, Artisan’s flagship modeling suite, Artisan Studio®, provides complete support for UML, OMG SysML and Architectural Frameworks such DoDAF, MODAF and UPDM, in a single, integrated tool suite. It enables large and often geographically dispersed teams of analysts, systems and software engineers to Work as OneTM, modeling systems and software for the complete project lifecycle from conception to implementation. As such, it avoids the design duplication and inconsistency that often occurs if a mixture of tools and methods are employed in a project. Its powerful, centralized data repository relieves companies of the significant management overhead generally associated with multi-user access and its stable, robust working environment ensures high availability of model information, while securing all valuable data. A fully functional single-user version, Artisan Studio Uno, which provides the perfect entry-level toolset for standards-based, model-driven systems and software development, is available for download free-of-charge from the Artisan Software Tools website. Furthermore, Artisan is introducing its recently launched Artisan WorkbenchTM to the French market. Artisan Workbench provides a fully integrated, collaborative engineering framework for the trouble-free deployment and maintenance of best-in-class tools for mission and safety-critical embedded systems and software development.

Artisan is currently evaluating various premises in the Paris area for its new French office.
