Adapters attach test leads to hex screws quickly & safely
A range of adapters now enable test leads to be quickly and safely attached to hex socket screws. The Variogrip adapters from Multi-Contact have a split hexagonal tip that expands on turning a knob at the rear so that it is firmly held inside the socket.
Ensuring low contact resistance, the arrangement produces multiple contact points. Further to this, the adapter can be safely attached or removed while the screws are electrically live. Rated at 1000V, CAT IV and 24 A, the adapters are available in two sizes, for 5 mm and 6 mm hex sockets, having a grey or black knob respectively.
The adapters are available in black, red or blue, and accept 4 mm safety leads. To maintain the CAT IV rating, appropriately rated leads should be used.
