Alan Anderson Manufacturing (AAM), the UK's newest full-service provider of PCBA and Value-Add Contract Electronics Manufacturing (CEM), has recently installed advanced conformal coating equipment at its UK facility.

The PVA Delta 6, a flexible robotic conformal coating and dispensing system, is designed to apply a wide range of conformal coatings with precision. Its robust overhead three-axis motion system allows for efficient large-batch operations, offering a resolution of 5 microns, and ensuring coatings meet specific customer requirements.

“Effective and consistent conformal coating capabilities have long challenged the industry. Many of our customers require their assemblies to be supplied coated to provide protection from moisture, fungus, dust, and other possible contaminants. Conformal coating by hand is time-consuming and coverage can be variable. Our automated, selective coating robotic system ensures that only the required areas are coated with a consistent finish, without the need for time-consuming, and therefore costly, masking operations," said Michael Knight, Sales Director, AAM.

This investment is part of AAM's ongoing commitment to using state-of-the-art equipment, ensuring all key processes are managed in-house. This approach enhances manufacturing flexibility, enabling the company to offer innovative solutions such as maintaining buffer stocks of completed assemblies. This allows AAM customers to react to unexpected spikes in demand within as little as 48 hours, often making a critical difference in securing business opportunities.
