A new easy step-by-step approach to develop 3D gesturing systems has been unveiled today by Microchip. A complete reference system consisting of an MGC3130 module and one example reference electrode, the new MGC3130 Hillstar Development Kit for 3D gesturing systems is the world’s first single-chip 3D gesture/free space position tracking solution. Coming with several additional reference electrode designs, the Aurea Graphical User Interface Software, and an I2C-to-USB Bridge Module, the Development Kit enables easy design-in of the MGC3130 into several different form factors.

Customers using the MGC3130 Hillstar Development Kit are able to integrate an advanced 3D hand position and gesturing user interface into virtually any electronic product using a modular approach with complete documentation, reference layouts, hardware and a software GUI. it also provides designers the ability to integrate Microchip’s industry-leading technology in their applications in the shortest possible time.

A wide range of applications is served due to the GestIC Technology enabled with the MGC313, with applcations including computing, lighting, consumer electronics, and automotive markets among others. The Hillstar Development Kit (DM160218) is available for purchase today, priced at $179.00. The MGC3130 Configurable 3D Gesture Controller is shipping in production.
