Polyurea coating suitable for construction indudstry
Manufacturer of high-performance polyurethane, polyurea and hybrid coatings for a variety of applications, Chemline, has announced CHEMLINE ARC. This coating adheres extremely well to concrete with the use of a primer. The company claims that it is widely used in both the construction and contractor markets due to its excellent physical properties and resistance to moisture issues. Typical applications include: secondary containment for oil and gas, wastewater basins, parking garages, foundations and water ponds.
CHEMLINE ARC is a fast-set, spray applied, two-component polyurea that contains 100% solids and zero VOCs. CHEMLINE ARC is a pure polyurea meaning that it yields better chemical resistance and handles wider range of temperature fluctuations.
It also offers corrosion protection and chemical resistance. CHEMLINE ARC will exhibit impact resistance even in sub-freezing weather. With a 12 second gel time, it provides rapid turn around and reduces labour costs. Additionally, this product certified to meet ANSI/NSF 61 standards for potable water by Underwriters Laboratory.
According to the company, CHEMPRIME CP and CHEMPRIME 3558 offer superior wetting of concrete and excellent adhesion to CHEMLINE ARC.
Physical properties of CHEMLINE ARC include:
- Hardness: Shore 52 D
- Tensile strength: 3,850 psi
- Tear resistance/DIE-C: 570 pli
- Ultimate elongation: 425%
- Taber abrasion: 17.0mg loss
CHEMLINE ARC must be applied using a high pressure, heated plural component pump. Chemline recommends Graco Reactor E-XP1 or H-XP2.
