Phil solders on at NEW
The IPC Hand Soldering Competition in association with Advanced Rework Technology Ltd had 25 competitors at this year’s National Electronics Week. The competition levels were higher than ever and judges Debbie Wade and Mark Harvey from ART had their work cut out for them.

The results are as follows: In 1st place, Phil Smith from CIL, the returning champion holding onto his title from last year. Phil won £200 cash and a trip to a European event next year to defend his title. His score was 439 in 45 minutes
2nd place was taken by Tom Woods from Bit Box. His score was 356 in 45 minutes and he took home the £100 cash prize.
In 3rd place was Mark Athersmith from ATEQ UK with a score of 207 in 45 minutes. Mark received a £50 cash prize.
