Bourns unveils AEC-Q200 compliant high voltage gas discharge tubes for harsh environments
Bourns, Inc., a provider of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing applications, has introduced its latest product, the Model SA2-A High Voltage Gas Discharge Tube (GDT) Series. Designed to meet the stringent requirements of harsh environments, this new GDT series expands Bourns’ AEC-Q200 compliant portfolio, offering exceptional reliability and durability for critical applications.
The Model SA2-A Series is engineered for advanced surge protection across a wide range of industries, including electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, industrial controls, photovoltaic installations, HVAC systems, and power supplies. With breakdown voltages ranging from 3000 V to 7200 V, the GDTs provide robust energy dissipation and high insulation resistance, making them ideal for safeguarding sensitive electronics from high-energy surges. They are also suitable for "Protective Earth" (PE) isolation, meeting IEC 62368-1 standards.
Designed to withstand a broad operating temperature range from -40 °C to +125 °C, the Model SA2-A Series offers long-term reliability, helping reduce maintenance and extend the lifespan of protected systems.
"The launch of our high voltage GDT series demonstrates Bourns’ continued commitment to innovation and delivering solutions that meet high-reliability market needs," said David Chavarría, GDT/SPD Product Line Manager at Bourns. "This series reflects our expertise in circuit protection and dedication to supporting the long-term success of our customers."
The Model SA2-A Series GDTs are available now, RoHS compliant, and UL recognized. For more information, visit www.bourns.com.
