Precision drying: A critical step in wet process cleaning
Cleaning, an integral part of many manufacturing and maintenance processes is often critical to the performance of a broad range of technologies in the semiconductor, defence, MEMS, photonics and biotech industries. In this case, ‘cleaning’ refers to the use of agents such as solvents, acids or bases to remove unwanted particulates and other contaminates from products ranging from optics to semiconductor and electronic devices.
Exhibition showcases all aspects of the printed electronics industry
LOPEC, International Exhibition and Conference for the printed electronics industry, will take place in Munich, Germany, during March 2019. It will be the 11th time that LOPEC has been staged. The two-day exhibition (March 20 to 21) and three-day conference (March 19–21) will provide show attendees and conference delegates with the best opportunity to keep abreast of all the latest technology and business developments this important te...
Coating and curing like nothing before
People often don’t realise how important coatings are to a lot of products and industries. Electrolube recently attended electronica 2018, to show live demonstrations of what it describes to be revolutionary, and one of a kind, new 2K850 conformal coating material using a line-up of three machines covering: dispensing and cure, followed by an end-of-line test of the coating using new technology.
Faster, easier PCBs ordering via Drag & Drop
The prototype specialist and PCB manufacturer Beta LAYOUT has simplified the online ordering process for printed circuit boards. The redesigned PCB-POOL online calculator now allows the direct data upload of a PCB design via Drag & Drop in several native file formats. Current accepted files formats include Altium Designer, EAGLE, Target 3001!, KiCad and Gerber X2.
Prevent quality issues by zooming in on PCBs
Preventing mistakes or defects in manufactured products and avoiding problems when delivering solutions or services to customers are natural concerns to EMS providers. Digital microscopes integrated as part of the Quality Assurance in production and R&D departments can often play an important role to clear these concerns.
Live coat, cure and test demos of 2K850 coating at electronica
Electrolube will be conducting live, stand-based demonstrations of its revolutionary new 2K850 conformal coating material using a line-up of three machines covering: dispensing and cure, followed by an end-of-line test of the coating using groundbreaking new technology developed in partnership with Electrolube. Electrolube will be in Hall B4 Stand 315 at Electronica this year with live demonstrations of what it claims to be one of the most i...
UL 1203 Certified Epoxy
Master Bond EP41S-6 is a new two component epoxy system that meets UL 1203, which is defined by Underwriters Laboratories as the “Standard for Explosion-Proof and Dust-Ignition-Proof Electrical Equipment for Use in Hazardous (Classified) Locations”. To meet the UL 1203 requirements, samples of EP41S-6 were exposed to saturated vapors in air for the following chemicals: acetic acid (glacial), acetone, ammonium hydroxide (20% by weight)...
Structural Adhesive Offers High Temperature Stability
DELO has developed a structural adhesive that offers increased stability at high temperatures. DELO MONOPOX HT2860 achieves up to three times the strength at a temperature of 150°C compared to previous product generations.
The development of next-gen smart clothing
The Centre for Process Innovation (CPI) has announced that it is collaborating on a project to support the development of next-generation smart clothing. Working with Pireta, CPI is using its industry expertise in the printed electronics sector to aid scale-up of wearable technology in textiles.
Superior physical characteristics in coil anodised aluminium products
The physical characteristics of coil anodised aluminium have been explained by Lorin Industries, stating that it provides greater durability and aesthetics than other metal products. The coil anodising process from Lorin protects aluminium from oxidation, scratching, and other hazards far better than natural oxidising, and offers more protection than is available for other metals.
