Not content with supplying prototype PCBs for everyday designs and developments, some of Newbury Electronics recent boards are being used in the development of a space borne GPS receiver. This is the latest in a string of projects that the company has completed for Dr Ben Kieniewicz, Founder and Director of European Engineering & Consultancy (EECL). 

This year's LOPEC show will take place in Munich from 19th to 21st March. Visitors can expect a supporting programme at the International Exhibition and Conference for the Printed Electronics Industry. Among the crowd-pullers are the Demo Line, which brings the manufacturing process of printed electronics to life, and the Innovation Showcase with developments from a wide range of industry sectors, from aviation to the textile industry.

To give manufacturers access to high powered, portable plasma treatment, Intertronics has introduced the Relyon Plasmatool. Suitable for a range of processes, substrates and geometries, the portable surface treatment system will help manufacturers in applications where the substrate is difficult to treat because of size or location.

Formulators looking to enhance the corrosion protection of increasingly popular water-based coatings systems can now use Cortec’s M-120, a water-based corrosion inhibitor additive that does not contain heavy metals. M-120 can be used alone or in conjunction with other inhibitors to increase the corrosion protection abilities of both water-based and solvent-based systems. It is recommended for use in acrylic and alkyd resin systems.

Manufacturer of industrial adhesives for automotive, consumer and industrial electronics applications, DELO, has developed an encapsulant with very high resistance to media and temperature. DELO MONOPOX GE6515 offers an optimised curing time, speeding up production processes. 

It has been announced that PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI) unveiled its new base oil ETRO+, the next evolution in Group III base oils. An improvement from the existing ETRO brand, ETRO+ is a Group III+ base oil that promotes fuel efficiency and the reduction of CO2 emissions. 

To deliver better customer service and accommodate further growth, Intertronics has opened a new facility in Kidlington. Inaugurated on 25th February 2019, the building provides increased warehouse space to enable next day delivery, an enhanced office area to house its growing team and a new Technology Centre to give customers greater access to Intertronics’ equipment and expertise.

This silicone technology provides optical performance without compromise and offers rheological properties for use with light fixtures in a variety of shapes and forms. 

The $500m electronic skin (e-skin) market is projected to see an aggressive year on year growth at 20.7% in 2019, according to a study. Thriving as a niche marketplace currently in its nascent stage, the electronic skin market will reportedly remain a high growth-low value landscape.
