Voice line solution qualified for Intel PUMA 6 powered cable gateways
Lantiq has revealed that the company's DUSLIC-xT voice line solution is now qualified for integration in cable gateways based on the Intel PUMA 6 SoC. The driver has has been integrated into the Intel Cable Software Development Kit (SDK) and Lantiq’s Telephony Interface Daughter (TID) card reference design has been tested for compatibility with Puma 6 platforms.
Cable gateway suppliers can use the reference design or work directly with Lantiq to integrate the DUSLIC-xT into their system designs based on Intel Puma 6 an Intel Atom based, DOCSIS 3.0 compliant SoC which can reach up to 1.2Gb/s downstream by bonding up to 24 DOCSIS channels and up to 240Mb/s upstream by bonding up to 8 DOCSIS return channels.
DUSLIC-xT is a single package CODEC/SLIC that provides all necessary functions for single or dual voice line termination at the customer premise. It is a cost and footprint optimised solution for implementation of the FXS (Foreign Exchange Subscriber) interface required to support analog fixed line phone service. The device features lowest power consumption of available voice solutions, which helps manufacturers meet stringent Code of Conduct requirements, while using a smaller power supply to further improve system design and cost. It also provides support for industry standard (GR-909) line test requirements and additional unique tests such as electronic ring detection to validate lines with no attached handset.
Johannes Eiblmeier, Vice President and Head of the Voice and Telecom Products Business Line, Lantiq, comments: “With more than 900 million voice line termination circuits deployed worldwide, leading OEMs rely on Lantiq to provide quality, performance and reduced design complexity for this essential communications service. DUSLIC-xT is a leading player in the voice market segment for FTTH applications and with design qualification by Intel we can now offer our market segment leading solution for ‘voice over any wire’ into the home."
Lantiq’s DUSLIC-xT and associated reference designs are available now.
