Qualcomm Technologies has introduced three new next generation Qualcomm Snapdragon processors - the Snapdragon 625, 435 and 425. These new processors are designed to deliver some of the latest premium-tier user experiences, using custom developed technology including camera, video, gaming and connectivity, to the broader smartphone ecosystem.

“We develop all of our processor technologies with scalability in mind, so that we can quickly and cost effectively accelerate the availability of premium tier capabilities within the rest of our portfolio of Snapdragon processors, making superior user experiences more accessible to a broader range of consumers,” said Alex Katouzian, Senior Vice President, Product Management, Qualcomm Technologies. “This approach allows us to quickly expand our custom feature development, rapidly deploy compatible software across tiers, and enhance our ability to integrate application and connectivity solutions with leading user experiences to meet our customers’ needs at multiple price points quickly and effectively.”

The company has also introduced its sixth generation discrete LTE multi-mode chipset - the Qualcomm Snapdragon X16 LTE modem - which is built on a 14nm FinFET process and the Qualcomm RF Transceiver, WTR5975. The Snapdragon X16 LTE modem is the first commercially announced Gigabit Class LTE chipset designed to deliver fibre-like LTE Category 16 download speeds of up to 1Gbps, supporting up to 4x20MHz downlink Carrier Aggregation (CA) across FDD and TDD spectrum with 256-QAM, and 2x20MHz uplink carrier aggregation plus 64-QAM for uplink speeds up to 150Mbps.

Finally the company has introduced the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear, a new platform for next generation wearable devices, and the Snapdragon Wear 2100 system-on-chip (SoC), the first in a new product family designed to bring new and enhanced wearable experiences to consumers.

Raj Talluri, Senior Vice President, Product Management, Qualcomm Technologies, commented: “With the introduction of the Snapdragon Wear platform and Snapdragon Wear 2100 SoC, Qualcomm Technologies is well positioned to extend its progress in wearables technology by enabling sleek designs, long battery life, smart sensing, and always connected experiences in the next generation of wearable devices. These benefits are expected to have widespread appeal across the mobile, fashion and sports ecosystems in the wearables space.”
