Switchtec's multi function timers are smart and compact for ease of engineering and user simplicity

With the installer in mind, and benefiting from the use of SMD components, the AMY-N has been designed to be as compact as possible without compromising on its interface. Dimensions are 28.6 x 22.3 x 64mm (HxWxD). The depth is 82mm when plugged into a standard Din rail mounting socket type 18FF-4Z-C8 that fits onto standard 35mm Din mounting rail. An accessory is available that allows the timers to be used in flush mounting applications, for example on the front of a door or control panel.

The AMY-N is supplied with selectable timescales and functions, all via DIP switches located on the side of the timer. This is an important, usable feature, and not all plug In 4 pole timers of this type offer this facility. The DIP switches are located under a small flap that opens to allow access and adjustment. The switches can then be set to the required time scale and function, and the door closed thus hiding the switches. The flap has the dual function of providing an aesthetically pleasing, uniform look whilst also hiding the DIP switches from tampering or accidental adjustment. Fine timing adjustment is then selectable and controllable from the large dial mounted on the top of the timer.

For versatility the AMY-N series is available in 12 and 24VDC, and 12, 24, 110 and 240VAC 50/60Hz. The timer is available as either 2 or 4 pole change over types, and both have contacts rated at 5A, 250VAC/30VDC. On account of a customized CMOS IC, power consumption is kept low at 1.6W maximum DC, and 2.9VA maximum AC. Timing wise, the AMY-N has eight field selectable ranges, and can be programmed to operate over a massive timing range from just one second up to a maximum of 600 hours. Two output modes are available, On-Delay and Cyclic (On-Off).

The timers are able to operate over a wide temperature range of -10 to +50 degrees C and in an ambient humidity of 85 percent RH.
