High performance VME/VXS single board computer unveiled by Emerson Network Power
A new high performance VME/VXS single board computer unveiled today by Emerson Network Power offers a significant performance and functionality increase for both commercial and rugged applications. The MVME8100 features the Freescale P5020 QorIQ processor supported by up to 8GB high speed DDR3-1333MHz ECC memory and 8GB eMMC NAND Flash. The board also features 512KB of non volatile F-RAM, which is ideal for critical data storage, data logs, dynamic program updates, and dynamic security.
The Paul Virgo, marketing director of Emerson Network Power’s Embedded Computing business, said: “The new MVME8100 will provide technology insertion to prolong current programs while providing significantly more computing performance and data throughput. Backwards compatibility has been a foundation for the success of VME technology and we are proud to continue this great heritage of investment protection while adding innovative new features.”
The MVME8100 offers extensive I/O including PCIe and SRIO fabric connectivity and multiple USB, Serial and Ethernet ports. On board expansion includes an optional mounting kit for a 2.5 inch SATA drive and two PMC/XMC sites. Supported operating systems on the Emerson Network Power MVME8100 include Linux, Wind River VxWorks, and Green Hills INTEGRITY.
