microSD card meets US government computer security standards
Swissbit has expanded its PS-100u Security series of secure microSD storage cards with the PS-100u FE which is suitable to protect US governmental and enterprise mobile communication. An integrated smart card fulfils FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standard) 140-2 level 3, a US government computer security standard that is used to accredit cryptographic modules.
The FIPS Edition (FE) of the PS-100u series offers an extremely high level of smart card security in the popular microSD storage form factor. Swissbit is focusing exclusively on the needs of B2B partners, solution providers and value-added resellers industry, telecommunication, banking, medicine, government and public authority markets.
The Java Card OS is suited for authentication and PKI security applications. The large secure storage for Java Card applets of 160kB inside the chip provides storage for fully customer controlled code and trusted storage for certificate chains and keys. Solution partners offer integration into mobile, desktop and tablet devices and related card management solutions.
Sample products are already available, while serial production in memory sizes of 8 and 16GB is due to start in April 2015.
