Key Electronics Chooses Cogiscan for Factory Wide Traceability
Cogiscan announces that it was selected by Key Electronics to expand its existing traceability structure into a complete Track, Trace and Control system that spans the entire factory. In early 2012, Key Electronics purchased two new Juki pick-and-place lines equipped with Juki’s IFS-X2 (Intelligent Feeder System) and Traceability options, which utilize Cogiscan technology.
This lead to the decision to purchase Cogiscan’s complete Track, Track and Control system to help the company meet existing customer requirements for traceability. Additionally, Cogiscan’s factory-wide traceability solution will enable Key to grow the high-reliability segment of its business by offering the highest levels of quality assurance and traceability to its customers, especially for its target markets, which include military, aerospace, medical and transportation.
The new Track, Trace and Control system will include site licenses for material and product tracking, setup validation (error-proofing), material and process traceability, and productivity monitoring. Integration with Key’s internally developed MES will simplify data entry transactions and synchronize data between the systems.
Dave Meece, EVP of Strategic Initiatives at Key Electronics, commented: “Key is excited about partnering with Cogiscan to provide first-class traceability solutions. The purchase of the Juki SMT lines and Cogiscan system solutions are part of Key’s strategic plan to enhance its services for the medical, aerospace and defense industries. This multi-faceted plan also includes AS9100C certification that will provide the infrastructure and capabilities to deliver high-level services to a demanding market on a consistent basis.”
Mitch DeCaire, Cogiscan Sales Manager for the Americas, commented: “Cogiscan was honored to be selected by Key Electronics for factory-wide Track, Trace and Control. The team at Key demonstrates a sincere commitment to providing their customers with the highest possible levels of quality assurance and traceability, and Cogiscan looks forward to supporting these initiatives.”
