Huawei Retains Its No.3 Position in the 2009 Global Service Provider IP Router Market

Huawei, a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, recently announced that according to the 2009 annual data from Infonetics Research, Huawei kept its strong growth in the global service provider IP router market with a revenue market share of 14.21%, retaining the third position and standing out as the industry's only vendor with significant market share growth.

With regard to specific equipment segments, Huawei ranked No. 3 in both the IP core router and IP edge router, with market shares of 10.60% and 15.61% respectively. In terms of regions, Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America, Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) are the major contributing regions, where Huawei secured number two position with a market share of 20.83%.

In 2009, Huawei reinforced its leadership in service provider IP router with a series of innovations, including the Solar 2.0 100G chipset, industry' s end-to-end 100G solution, IP-and-OTN synergy, commercial deployment of NE5000E 2+4 cluster system, and 300 mm-depth Mini metro service platform (CX600-X1/X2). At the same time, Huawei's SingleMetro, MultiPlay solution has attracted wide attention and won recognition from operators worldwide since its launch in 2009. So far, the SingleMetro, MultiPlay solution has mass commercial deployment in the world's leading operators including Telefonica, Mobistar, and Bharti Airtel.
