An industrial two-port Gigabit firewall appliance with NAT and VPN has been released by Axiomtek. Equipped with stateful packet inspection, denial of service and intrusion detection and prevention, the IFW320 could be used to protect machine and equipment connecting to un-trusted internet.

The CE certified platform, which supports IPv4 and IPv6 dual mode protocol, features a high throughput rate of up to 500Mb/s. The industrial firewall is built in with IPsec VPN providing site-to-site secure tunnel, PPTP VPN offering point-to-point connection for employees at home, and SSL VPN enabling easy VPN access to the headquarters through a web browser. The IFW320 provides system integrator and machine maker a secure way to configure and maintain devices.

Designed to provide cyber security protection for industrial, military and critical infrastructure equipment, the platform features an IP40 extruded aluminium and heavy-duty steel closure. The industrial firwall, which can be mounted on the din rail and the wall, supports 2GB DRAM, 2GB CompactFlash, one VGA port, one USB 2.0 port and two Gigabit LAN ports.

“The IFW320 is embedded with industrial protocol management, including EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, Lonworks, Profinet, Modbus and DNP, which enable secure fieldbus networks. CMS increases operation and distribution efficiency, avoids costly mistakes and significantly reduces costs in network management. CMS can also manage the installation of the distributed appliances across remote factories and robots with ease. Additionally, we offer wide temperature range models for use in hazardous, -40 to 75°C environments. The industrial Ethernet firewall platform is suitable for Ethernet security application in sensitive remote control or monitoring networks such as in oil, gas, water and wastewater, power or factory automation systems,” said Mercy Peng, Product Manager, Product Marketing Division, Axiomtek.

The IFW320 will be available from June 2015.
