Suitable for a range of industrial applications such as digital signage, kiosk, ticketing and point of information, the ACS-2160 has been announced by APLEX Technology. This compact fanless embedded system is powered by Intel D2550 which provides low power consumption and rich connections without impacting size or performance.

The ACS-2160 provides customers with a cost effective and high performance solution which saves significant costs where space is at a premium. Powered by Intel D2550, the ACS-2160 reduces power consumption and the fanless great thermal design gives customers a silent operating environment. The cover of ACS-2160 is made of aluminium which is characterised by low weight, high strength, ease of maintained and excellent corrosion resistance. The ACS-2160 operates over a temperature range from -20 to +60°C, supports 5G vibration, 50G shock and drops from 92cm in order to meet the tough requirements of harsh environment applications.

The fanless box PC is equipped with on board 2GB DDR3 800MHz (4GB optional), rich connection I/O ports (two USB ports, two LAN RJ-45, one RS-232 DB-9, COM2, one DB-9 RS-232/422/485, COM1, one audio line out and one VGA) and storage functionalities (one SD up to 32GB and one SATA HDD bay up to 64GB). In addition, the ACS-2160 features one internal mini-PCIe slot for flexible expansion. The ACS-2160 provides multiple OS options including: Windows 32-bit XP Pro, Windows 7 32-bit, Windows CE7.0 and Fedora 14.

Measuring just 139.8x246.25x29.2mm, the ACS-2160 is designed to meet space limited applications. It provides a variety of mounting options such as VESA 75x75/100x100 (optional), wall mount and DIN Rail. In industrial-grade application environments, DIN rail mounting is used extensively and one of its major benefits is the interchangeability of components. A DIN rail provides an easy way to replace dysfunctional component and save the time.
