eme Engineering Solutions is shipping XCalibur1501, the first MPC8572E based 6U CompactPCI board that scales from commercial to full blown military (conduction-cooled) applications. Targeting Freescale Semiconductor’s dual-core MPC 8572E PowerQUICC™ III processor, XCalibur1501 is being adopted by commercial, industrial and military system architects demanding high processing performance with low power consumption.
XCalibur1501 is a powerful solution for the next generation of computationally intensive embedded applications and features:
• Freescale MPC 8572E PowerQUICC® III processor with dual e500 Power Architecture® cores at up to 1.5 GHz
• Two channels of up to 4 GB of DDR2-800 SDRAM with ECC
• Up to 4 GB of NAND flash and 256 MB of NOR flash
• PICMG 2.16 backplane Gigabit interface
• Two SATA 3.0 Gb/s ports
• Three USB 2.0 ports
• Two PrPMC/XMC interfaces
• In-house X-ES operating system support includes:
o Green Hills INTEGRITY™ Board Support Package (BSP)
o Wind River VxWorks™ BSP
o QNX Neutrino™ BSP
o Linux LSP
• Guaranteed 4-hour technical response to all hardware and software questions
“Early adopters of XCalibur1501 are enjoying high performance, low power and I/O flexibility courtesy of the dual PMC / XMC sites available on XCalibur1501,” states Bret Farnum, Vice President of Sales. “We’re seeing Solid State Memory, Ethernet, serial, and 1553 modules being added to replace EOL or other antiquated CPU solutions,” adds Farnum.
