Ethernet switches utilise PoE+ to deliver more power
Enabling four Ethernet Switch ports to be simultaneously deployed for the supply of power, HARTING has announced the Ha-VIS eCon Ethernet switches. Using the higher-power variant PoE+ standard (based on IEEE 802.3at) to offer power levels of up to 34.2W, the Ethernet switches provide more power to connected system devices, significantly increasing the variety of potential applications.
The Ha-VIS eCon portfolio includes switches with a 54V supply voltage and variants with integrated voltage converters, allowing the use of standard 24V power supplies. Higher power levels enable users to benefit from greater flexibility in the connection of end devices and the extension of the network. It also allows users to save time, money and space on additional components such as power supplies and cabling.
Facilitating cost-effective extension of existing network infrastructures or construction of new industrial networks, the Ha-VIS eCon Ethernet Switches have been designed and optimised for applications in harsh industrial environments. with compact dimensions that are easy to fit into industrial installations, users can select exactly the combination of power characteristics and port combinations that fits the application.
