With the EN-A3, DSM Computer presented at embedded world its first embedded system based on the current Intel Atom E3800 processor platform (previous code name "Bay Trail I Premium").The small 200 x 200 x 51 mm Box IPC operates throughout the complete operating temperature range from 0° - 45° C without requiring a fan.

As low-cost entry-level model, the computer is ideal for a wide range of applications in the process plant engineering, power engineering, transport and logistics, as well as display control and gateway areas.

The compact EN-A3 embedded system integrates as standard a mini-ITX board with the quad-core Intel® Atom E3845 processor with 1.91 GHz clock and integrated 2 MB cache. On request, the Box IPC can be equipped with the dual-core Intel® Atom E3826 processor (1.46 GHz) or the single-core E3814 (1.46 GHz). The processor integrates the high-performance Intel® HD graphics. The fast DDR3 RAM main memory can be expanded to a maximum capacity of 8 GB.

For data storage, the EN-A3 industrial computer includes a 30 GB mSATA SSD (Solid State Drive) or larger that does not have any moving parts and avoids the need for extensive wiring. Two mini PCI Express x1 slots are present internally on the CPU board, where one slot can be chosen as mini PCI Express x1 or mSATA. As an option, the system can also be equipped with a 2.5 inch SSD.

Despite its compact construction, the EN-A3 embedded system provides many interfaces: two GigaBit LANs, one USB 3.0 and four USB 2.0, four serial connections (RS232, one of which is RS232/422/485), audio and an internal Serial ATA interface for a SATA II 300 device. The industrial PC is equipped with two graphic outputs that can be configured as VGA, DVI-D or DisplayPort (DP).

On request, the high-quality EN-A3 housing is available in any required color, also with company logo. The scope of supply includes mounting rails and optionally a wall-mounting bracket or a DIN rail-mounting. The Box IPC provides a 12/24 VDC wide-range power input and an external 100 - 240 VAC power pack.
