Deutschmann Automation has updated the free Protocol Developer Tool for the NIGATE IC2 PROFINET embedded solution.

The communication module offers reliable PROFINET connectivity and can be quickly and easily installed in a terminal device or sensor system. Implementation of the ready-to-use module can significantly optimise design times and time-to-market for the final product.

Protocol connection between the UNIGATE IC2 module and the terminal device is implemented via Deutschmann Automation’s proprietary script language ensuring high flexibility and complexity. For programming the script, Deutschmann provides the Protocol Developer supporting a variety of functions to fit the received or to send data into the right form. Mathematics or memory processing commands are easy to understand.

The integrated debug environment offers common functions such as single-step, running and stopping on breakpoint, and monitoring of variables and an error message to allow comfortable and fast debugging even of huge scripts. The Protocol Developer features data-type independent algorithms and a pre-processor allowing for macro definitions, conditional compilation and operation with constants. The support of universal protocols increases the versatility of the script. The user-friendly surface offers modern icons for the toolbar, a simplification of the configuration, an extended syntax highlighting and an auto-completion of commands.

Deutschmann Automation’s compatible UNIGATE IC2 embedded series offers a wide variety of different Industrial Ethernet and fieldbus communication modules, which are developed and manufactured in Germany. Furthermore, Deutschmann Automation supplies various fieldbus and Industrial Ethernet gateways and protocol converters for network-compatible systems.
