Chemring Technology Solutions will launch a major capability upgrade of its RESOLVE Electronic Warfare (EW) system at DSEI 2017, exploiting its wideband sensor collection capability to deliver automatic target geo-location in mounted operations, alongside intelligence development tools.

RESOLVE’s extended mounted capability has created the world’s first calibration-free, multi-platform EW system, which can go from on-the-march to vehicle-mounted instantly.

When on the move, automatic target geolocation is delivered from a single-system/single vehicle. Enhanced, map-based presentation of signals delivers immediate operator recognition of signal sources. This ability to detect, interpret and geo-locate at pace greatly extends the effective operational area, providing the solution for contemporary high-tempo operations.

New information exploitation and analysis capability now delivers enhanced intelligence development for immediate mission support. RESOLVE’s EW mission-focused workflow rapidly recognises and isolates high value intelligence by dynamically linking an interactive map display against the EW signal detection timeline. Beyond this mission-tasking focus, RESOLVE is also able to exploit and quickly analyse the large volumes of data derived from its wideband sensor.

Roger Hopper, Strategic Business Development Manager, at Chemring Technology Solutions, said: “Our original development of RESOLVE was a real step-change, as no other EW system provided such a high level of direction-finding capability for mounted and dismounted missions. RESOLVE’s latest capability upgrade is another market-first innovation as it delivers deployment agnostic EW capability, thus responding to the evolving needs of the users who want ‘rapid deployment’ and ‘easy to use’ in all scenarios.”

RESOLVE’s innovative multi-role capability in tactical EW, and its continued focus on contemporary operational needs, make it the solution. A single RESOLVE EW Manpack provides both full spectrum wideband surveillance and wideband direction finding capabilities, with collaborative synchronous position fix between any two or more systems. The solution for contingent operations, RESOLVE is designed for simplicity in operation, enabling rapid deployment preparation, rapid role change, simultaneous support for tactical operations, and remote reporting via IP network radios and beyond line-of-sight links.

The effectiveness of this RESOLVE capability upgrade has been proven as part of Cyber Quest 2017, the US Army-led exercise for the assessment of innovative EW solutions in a contemporary operational environment.

The new RESOLVE system will be launched at DSEI on the Chemring Stand (S2-230).
