Helping developers to get Bluetooth Smart prototypes up and running fast then move quickly to production, CSR has introduced a low-cost development kit based on the company's proven µEnergy platform. Priced at $99 (USD) and available globally, the Starter Development Kit provides a complete environment for developers looking to create their first Bluetooth Smart products and quickly get them to market with minimal initial investment.

By offering unlimited compiler and debug tools, the kit removes restrictions from developers and enables them to innovate with the full power of the CSR µEnergy platform. Unlike some competing kits, this does not require users to purchase an additional development environment which incurs a significant additional cost. The CSR Starter Development Kit includes a full suite of profiles and example applications to run on-chip coupled with example source code for iOS and Android to give developers a starting point for their application development.

With FCC and ETSI RF certified reference module designs supported with full design files, the kit also accelerates hardware development. It is supplied with a hardware development board, a CSR1010 module, mini USB cable, setup and quick start guides straight out of the box, meaning that there is no additional monetary investment required. Developers also do not need to download and install additional tools or purchase further software licenses.
