Fujikura Europe will be showcasing its latest technology for FTTH applications, including its newest line of Bluetooth-enabled splicers at next week’s FTTH Conference in Valencia.

The core alignment single fibre optical fusion splicer, the 70S+, and the twelve fibre ribbon optical fibre fusion splicer, the 70R+, are the most recent additions to the original line of Fujikura fusion splicers, with the introduction of Bluetooth integration which allows the splicer to pair via the accompanying 'Splice+' Smartphone application.

These smart splicers can detect cleave and strip condition, monitor battery and power usage, and retain the features from the original high performance flagship line-up, including: fully automatic wind protector and improved heater, user customisable settings, ruggedised exterior which is dust, shock and rain resistant, and true core-alignment splice performance. The splicers also include a three year warranty as standard, supported by Fujikura’s fully trained network of distributors.

Alongside the 70S+ and 70R+ at Fujikura’s booth at FTTH will be two more recent additions to the company’s portfolio - the RS02 and RS03 Ribbon Fibre Strippers, which are suitable for use with all Fujikura models of splicers. Featuring Bluetooth connectivity and Smartphone app capabilities, and with a typical heating time of just three seconds and an auto adjusting heat sensor to monitor temperature and heating time, the RS Strippers are the perfect accessories for fast, smooth and efficient stripping.

The RS03 comes equipped with new features such as large capacity battery for 600 stripping cycles - six times larger than a conventional stripper - and a wireless link with Smartphones for operational parameter adjustment. Developed to suit the stripping and splicing needs of Fujikura’s SpiderWeb ribbon technology, the RS02 and 03 can both effectively and reliably strip up to twelve fibres, making them an essential investment.

“In order for Fibre to the Home installations to exist, cables need to be spliced or connected. Fujikura technology is famous for producing the highest quality fusion splicers, connectors and cabling products that can make a real difference to clients’ networks by providing an accessible and efficient solution without compromising performance,” said Neil Bessant, Fusion Splicer Divisional Manager at Fujikura Europe.

“We look forward to showcasing our world-leading technology and the important role it plays in making FTTH a reality all over the globe at this year’s conference in Valencia.”

A full range of Fujikura Europe’s fibre optic solutions will also be on display at the company’s booth (G06) at FTTH Conference, including the 12S FTTH splicers, the ever-popular clad-alignment 22S, as well as a range of other cable connectors, cleaning products and cabling solutions.
