Accordance Launches Compact RAID Storage Unit for Data Protection
Accordance Systems today announced the availability of the ARAID TM200 its first compact external RAID storage unit providing plug-and-play data protection for Windows, Linux and MAC PCs. The ARAID TM200 utilizes standard SATA laptop drives and connects via USB and eSATA easily installing on to any computer system. RAID 1 logic maintains redundant copies of data on two drives at all times so data is never lost in the event of hard disk failure.
“WThe ARAID TM200 RAID system is extremely easy to install and use. Users attach the external storage unit to any PC and connect to any USB or eSATA port without requiring software device drivers. Simply add the existing 2.5” SATA system disk and a secondary disk into the ARAID and attach to your computer system. The system dynamically builds a RAID 1 array and constantly mirrors data between the two drives.
The ARAID TM200 supports hot-swap and drives can be added or replaced while the system is running. Computers have no down time replacing failed hard drives. In fact, drives can be easily rotated in the same manner as tape back up to create offsite backups. Restoring the backup disk images is as easy as exchanging drive trays into the ARAID system.
The ARAID TM200 has a separate brick power supply and integrated forced air cooling. The TM200 can work with any operating system including Windows, Mac OS, Linux, Solaris, BSD, SCO Open Server, Netware, etc. Operating status of the ARAID is displayed and updated on the device LCD providing disk operation, temperature, disk read & write, and audible alarms for impending disk or cooling problems. An SNMP Agent allows tracking of a MIB, MIB II and Trap support for enterprise systems.
