Embedded controller from Micro-Robotics
Micro-Robotics has introduced the VM2, a new embedded, controller that is a development from the highly successful VM1 controller that has been the company’s flagship product for the past five years. The VM2 is smaller, measuring only 52mm x 48mm, costs some 15% less, is considerably more powerful and 15 times faster than its predecessor, has very low power consumption and brings many other advantages to designers of modern control systems. T...
3.5in Embedded SBC with Low Power Atom Processor and Dual Channel 24 Bit LVDS
With the ECM-945GSE, Data Modul offers a new 3.5in Embedded Single Board Computer, based on the latest Intel Atom Platform. The low power ECM-945GSE is fitted with the latest fanless Intel Atom N270 1.6 GHz CPU and Intel 945GSE + ICH7-M chipset.
Capacitive sensor signal-conditioning IC from ZMD delivers 14-bit resolution at low power
ZMD has expanded its family of capacitive sensor signal conditioning devices with the wide-dynamic-range ZMD31210 cLite IC. New design technology delivers 14-bit resolution and 0.5% accuracy over a wide range of capacitance and temperature. Capacitive sensors offer several benefits, including very low power operation, and the ZMD31210 supports this with a low 60 uA current draw over a supply voltage range as low as 1.8V or as high as 5.5V.
Re-Drivers Support PCIe Gen II and SATA/eSATA Gen III Data Rates
Maxim Integrated Products has introduced two new re-drivers to support the industry's latest high-speed serial interfaces. The MAX4950 is a quad-channel buffer designed to re-drive PCI Express (PCIe) Gen I and Gen II signals (up to 5.0Gbps). The MAX4951 is a dual-channel (Tx and Rx) re-driver for SATA/eSATA Gen I (1.5Gbps), Gen II (3.0Gbps), and Gen III (6.0Gbps) signals. These protocol-specific re-drivers are intended for use in storage and comp...
picoChip claims industry’s first HSPA+ femtocell SoC to support true eight-user operation
picoChip has launched the picoXcell PC312 HSPA+ femtocell system-on-chip (SoC), the industry’s first such device to support eight users, with simultaneous voice and data services. Offering 64QAM modulation and 3GPP Release 7 features for high-speed communication, the device is the newest addition to the picoXcell PC3xx family of single-chip femtocells launched in 2008. All are fully pin-compatible and offer customers a seamless migration path.
Elan Digital launches Mobidapter for PC-free mobile data sharing
SD/SDIO design specialists Elan Digital Systems announce the immediate availability of a unique new communications tool for the mobile market. The Mobidapter is a USB memory stick reader which plugs directly into the SD memory slot on mobile/cell phones, smart phones and PDAs.
Small Diameter High Temperature Resistant Accelerometer
Inertial Aerosystems have introduced a new small diameter high temperature and shock resistant accelerometer with enhanced temperature capability. It has been designed primarily for down hole measurement while drilling (MWD) applications in the gas and oil industries and also wireline environments that require a small form factor such as the new generation of directional and horizontal drilling tools.
Sequence of Events Recorder from RTK Instruments
The need to continuously monitor, record and analyse system performance is more important than ever, driven by the increasing regulations on safety and the high cost of plant shutdowns. The traditional back-lit annunciator still provides the clearest method of alerting the operator and, when combined with RTK Instruments’ System 9000TS, allows accurate time tagging of these events.
DDR3/LV-DDR2 SDRAM evaluation platform
Tokyo Electron Device has announced the release of Virtex-5 DDR3/LV-DDR2 SDRAM evaluation platform featuring next-generation high-speed DDR3 SDRAM memory and new LV-DDR2 SDRAM from Elpida Memory.
RF Transceivers Advance Design And Deployment of Small 4G Base Stations
Analog Devices is adding to its broad RF portfolio with the announcement today of new integrated RF-to-digital baseband transceivers. The AD9356 and AD9357 integrated transceivers advance low-cost base-station designs and deployments for 4G technology, such as WiMAX and LTE (long term evolution). The deployment of WiMAX continues in both developed and developing nations to provide last-mile connectivity and wireless backhaul channels. As a result...
