USB 3.0 receptacles & cordsets deliver 5Gb/s

Designed to deliver 5Gb/s, a series of USB 3.0 panel-mount receptacles and overmoulded cordsets has been introduced by Molex. Compared to the company's USB 2.0 line, the panel-mount receptacles and cordsets deliver data speeds which are 10 times faster. The receptacles and cordsets, which are industrial-rated, are engineered to USB 3.0 standards.

By providing fast data speeds in rugged design, the panel-mount receptacles and cordsets are suitable for a variety of applications, including data and computing, and consumer and home appliance. The receptacles and cordsets are also suitable for industrial automation, and automotive and commerical vehicle applications.

For robust pull-out resistance and faster installation than field-wired designs, the USB 3.0 connector assembly features rugged overmoulded cordsets with integral strain relief. When not in use, the dust cap seals the connection, preventing damage due to inclement conditions. Both the USB 3.0 connector assembly and the dust cap are IP67-rated. To enable reliable operation, EMI/RFI protection is provided by a fully-shielded cable.
