Same Sky expands USB Type C connector line with waterproof and power-only models
Same Sky's Interconnect Group has announced the expansion of its popular USB Type C connector line, introducing new waterproof and power-only models. These additions to the UJ family include waterproof USB Type C receptacles with IPX5, IPX6, IPX7, and IPX8 ratings, making them ideal for applications where moisture resistance is critical. Along with these, new 90 W power-only USB Type C receptacles are now available, including IPX5-rated versions, offering a more cost-effective solution by omitting data transfer capabilities in designs focused on charging or power delivery.
New Waterproof and Power-Only Models
The waterproof USB connectors are perfect for environments prone to moisture, while the power-only models target applications that require high-power delivery without data transfer. The UJC power-only models remove the data transfer pins to reduce costs, offering an efficient solution for designs focused solely on charging or powering devices. The new 90 W power-only models cater to demanding applications requiring high wattage.
In addition to the power-only connectors, Same Sky's expansion includes models compliant with USB 2.0 and USB 3.2 Gen 1 standards, supporting power delivery of up to 240 W at 48 V and 5 A. These USB Type C connectors are available in both horizontal and vertical surface mount configurations, offering flexibility for a wide range of designs. Engineered for high durability, they boast a lifespan of up to 10,000 mating cycles and can operate in extreme temperature ranges from -40°C to 85°C. Many models are reflow solder compatible, ensuring easy integration into automated production lines.
