Omnetics expands cable systems capability for medical customers
Omnetics says it has greatly expanded the family of cable systems available for medical equipment designers. Based around the company’s leading micro and nano miniature connectors, the cable systems are assembled in Omnetics’ 340 square foot cleanroom. New capabilities include cables that can withstand disinfection and sterilization fluids and processes commonly used in medical environments.
In support of this new capability, Omnetics offers design-in services to help customers select the most appropriate cable. The company can advise on issues such as signal management control, optimum wire size, EMI/RFI shielding and other noise reduction techniques. Issues such as flex life, tactile touch and feel qualities, tensile force, flexibility and other durability criteria can also be taken into consideration.
Comments Joe Held, in Omnetics technical marketing support: “Our 50” and 25” pitch connectors are now widely accepted in the medical industry for their ability to save space and simplicity to use. Moreover, our engineering team is well-experienced in producing assemblies to meet demanding customer specifications.”
