L-com launches new range of couplers and cables

L-com, a brand under Infinite Electronics, has launched a new range of USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 double-stack adapter couplers and cables. 

These products enable the doubling of USB ports in your rack, panel, or box without occupying additional space, while also offering faster data transmission to keep pace with modern equipment.

These panel-mount-capable devices facilitate the efficient passage of USB cables through a rack or panel. Options include two USB-A connector combinations: two female jacks to two male plugs, or two female to two female. The ECF-style panel mounts are compatible with most racks and panel cutouts.

The double-stack design features two sets of USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 connections stacked vertically, allowing for a more compact and organised installation by accommodating two USB ports in the space typically used by one.

The adapter cable features a chrome-plated, shielded and grounded ABS housing with 30-micro-inch gold-plated contacts, ensuring reliable connections even after repeated use. The adapters are available in chrome plated, shielded, or unshielded housing types, depending on the user's preference for grounding the connector shell to their rack, panel, or box. The USB cables can be securely installed using L-com's ECF-style flange-mount design, which includes screw mounting for passage through panels or enclosures.

Another advantage of L-com’s new double-stack adapter couplers is improved cable management. They help organise cable routing and provide a fixed point for connecting USB devices, eliminating the need for loose or dangling cables inside an enclosure.

The newly released products are primarily available as cable assemblies, with seven length options ranging from 1 foot to 10 feet. Four colours are offered: ivory, black, silver, and blue.

“These adapter couplers offer two main benefits,” said Dustin Guttadauro, Product Line Manager, L-com. “They upgrade you to higher data speeds from USB 2.0 to match the latest equipment. And they give you higher USB port density without taking up more space.”
