Hirose, a global leader in innovative connector solutions, has introduced an extension to its flexible printed circuit (FPC) and flat flexible connector (FFC) family. The new FH75M Series is designed to support high-speed data transmission with specifications including MIPI D-PHY (1.5 Gbps) and eDP1.3 (5.4 Gbps). With a 0.4 mm pitch and a height of only 2 mm, this connector is ideal for applications requiring a compact, high-performance solution.

Reliable performance in harsh environments

The FH75M Series stands out for its high contact reliability, even in demanding environments. Featuring a two-point contact design with independent springs, the connector provides a wiping action that helps prevent contact failure from dust, dirt, and other contaminants. Built to withstand temperatures of up to 125°C, the connector is well-suited for the extreme heat demands of automotive environments. Additionally, it meets rigorous automotive standards, including resistance to shock, vibration, hydrogen and sulfur gases, and corrosion caused by humidity.

Secure and simple locking mechanism

The FH75M Series incorporates a flip-lock mechanism that ensures secure connections. Its FPC tab and housing side catches provide a high retention force of 51.4N, ensuring reliable connections even in vibration-prone settings. The flip-lock design also simplifies FPC insertion, with a clear tactile click signaling proper locking. The wide tapers of the connector offer smooth and easy FPC insertion, making it user-friendly in both assembly and maintenance.

Space-saving design for automotive applications

"With its compact size, the FH75M Series offers significant space savings while meeting the rugged mechanical requirements of automotive applications, including high-temperature operation and a strong retention force for enhanced reliability," said Pete Lais, Assistant Vice President of Product Management for Hirose Electric Americas.

This connector is commonly deployed in a variety of automotive systems, including car navigation, laser radar, millimeter-wave radar, drive recorders, audio displays, and in-vehicle camera systems.

Additional features and availability

The FH75M Series is available in a 100-position version, offering versatility for different design needs. It is halogen-free and RoHS compliant, making it a sustainable choice for manufacturers focused on eco-friendly components.
