Hirose has launched a compact carbon-ink-circuit (CIC) connector that features a unique contact design to prevent carbon-ink scraping and paste damage.

Designed for harsh environment applications including automotive systems, the highly reliable FH52C Series CIC connector utilises a 110° robust flip-lock actuator for a quick, easy and secure assembly.

With a 1.0mm pitch, 2.0mm mating height, and 0.3 mm CIC compatibility, the miniature FH52C Series simplifies space-constrained designs.

High-strength, L-shaped retention tabs provide a PCB retention strength of 90N, approximately 1.8 times higher than traditional I-shaped methods. In addition, the L-shaped retention tabs stick out from the edge of the housing, allowing for visual inspection of the soldering from above.

“Building off the popular FH52 Series platform, the new FH52C Series is a compact and robust carbon- ink-circuit connector that meets the severe demands of automotive applications,” said Pete Lais, Assistant Vice President of Product Management for Hirose Electric Americas. “Delivering precision and reliability, the innovative connector design has a modified contact shape to prevent carbon ink scraping to ensure long-lasting performance in applications that experience harsh conditions.”

The FH52C Series CIC connector is commonly used in automotive applications like HUDs, IVIs, and HMI systems.

The FH52C Series supports automated pick-and-place mounting for streamlined production.
