Heavy duty connectors operate at -40 to +125°C

The robust, high-performance CHD14 series is designed for use in demanding commercial and off-road vehicle applications like EV battery pack, inverter and power distribution systems where electrical connections must be secure and resistant to harsh environmental conditions.

Rugged and reliable, the CHD14 series is rated at 1500Vdc for currents up to 500A with an operational temperature range of -40 °C to +125 °C and at least 50 mating cycles. Available in 1- and 2-pin options, the unmated socket is IP67 rated. The aluminium housing and silver-plated copper alloy contacts are highly resistant to corrosion, providing a long service life.

When mated, the interconnect is sealed to IP6K9K to prevent the ingress of dust and moisture. It also provides a high degree of protection with over 500 hours of salt spray testing. In addition, to prevent incorrect mating, the CHD14 series is available with three styles of coding (A, B and C).

“High-voltage DC powertrain applications, such as those used in electric vehicle (EV) battery pack, inverter and power distribution unit systems, require connectors specifically designed for high-voltage and high-current DC power transmission,” said Dermot Byrne, Industry Marketing Director - Transportation at TTI Europe. “The CHD14 series is available with a high-voltage interlock (HVIL) option as an additional safety feature.”
