Harwin showcases compact mezzanine connector series
Harwin will use the Hardware Pioneers Max event (London, 13th July) to showcase its Archer series of compact mezzanine connectors for data and signal transfer in high-density industrial and embedded systems.
A key connector series in the company’s BBi range, the Archer .5 and Archer .8 have a pitch of 0.5mm and 0.8mm, respectively and are the board, stack, or PCB connector of choice where space is limited. Applications include control and monitoring equipment, embedded computing, sensor modules, point-of-sales units, IoT-connected devices, and more.
The phosphor bronze contacts in the Archer series can carry a current of 0.5A each. Pin count options for the Archer .5 are 30, 40, 80, and 100 with data transfer capabilities of 16Gb/s. The Archer .8 connector additionally has pin counts of 60 and 120 with a connectivity speed of 24Gb/s. The connectors support blind-mating conditions - polarisation helps with orientation and alignment, while shrouded housings protect contacts from accidental damage. Supplied in tape and reel packaging with locating pegs fitted, these connectors support automated assembly processes.
“The Archer series combines large pin counts and 0.5A current carrying capacity that industrial and embedded engineers need,” states Ryan Smart, VP of Product at Harwin. “Visitors to our stand (43) will see how compact our Archer connectors are, yet robust and reliable.”
