Ethernet connector enables direct wiring in harsh environments

High-speed Ethernet connections work with crossed wire pairs to reduce interference at high data rates. The realisation of crossed wire pairs is no longer a problem thanks to the new version of PROVERTHA's M12 X-code connector.

Instead of the otherwise usual continuous cable with the same assignment at the ends, the M12 X-code connector now enables direct 1:1 wiring, because without the internal crossing of the wire pairs in the connector itself, no connection would be possible. Examples of typical applications can be found primarily in railway technology, but also in other systems with high-speed Ethernet connections.

The eight-pin M12 crimp connector with X-coded cable outlet for 10 Gbit Ethernet and Profinet with IP67 protection and 360-degree EMI/RFI shielding meets the requirements for a reliable Ethernet connection and interference-free data transmission in harsh environments. Typical target applications can be found in railway technology and in applications with high exposure to vibration such as automatic punching presses and high torsion as in robot applications.

The turned crimp contacts and the vibration and shock resistant crimp flange system provide excellent shielding, strain relief and safety in the network. The connectors are certified according to DIN EN 61373 for railway applications. Compact dimensions also allow use in limited installation space, while the robust all-metal hood is also suitable for harsh environments.

The small number of individual parts makes assembly simple, while the M12 locking mechanism with hexagonal combination knurl ensures a defined tightening torque.
